Welcome to the Borough of Newville! As Mayor it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Borough of Newville’s official website. I hope that you will find our site to be interesting and informative.

    I am honored to serve the citizens of Newville Borough. As Newville’s first female Mayor, and its youngest Mayor, I hope that my involvement in municipal government will serve to inspire others, especially younger members of the community, to become more involved in helping to make the Borough of Newville a better place.

    As Mayor, I am in charge of the Newville Borough Police Department. Although I may be a bit biased, I believe we have one of the most effective police departments in Cumberland County. Not only does our department serve the Borough of Newville, we provide contracted police services to entities outside of the borough such as the Big Spring School District, Saylor’s Market and Green Ridge Village all within nearby West Pennsboro Township, and more recently, the Newville Lions Club Fairground in North Newton Township. By contracting police services to these entities the police department generates over $68,000 in revenue to help operate the department. This lessens the financial burden on the taxpayers of Newville Borough. Our Chief of Police Randy Finkey runs an exceptionally efficient department, and consistently operates well under budget each year.

    Newville is on the move! We have a number of downtown revitalization projects underway, along with plans to provide over $750,000 in public improvement and streetscape improvements along a number of streets this year. We are a leader in intergovernmental cooperation and work closely with our municipal neighbors, North Newton and West Pennsboro Townships.

    Old fashioned values, and a strong sense of community pride are two of Newville’s strongest attributes. We are a community that honors it veterans, cares for those in need, and nurtures the growth and positive development of our young. I was born and raised in Newville, and I have graduated from Big Spring School District. The success I have enjoyed in life I owe to my family and my community.
