Prizes may be claimed on November 2-3, 2017 from 8AM to 4:30PM at the Newville Borough Office. You must have your registration card to claim a prize.

After November 3, 2017, prizes may be claimed by contacting NCAC Treasurer Jody Gilbert at 776-5727. The last day to claim a prize will be November 15, 2017.

The Newville Community Action Committee, sponsor of the Newville Halloween Parade would like to thank all of the local businesses who helped to make this year’s parade a success.


4 DIAMONDS CONCERT AT ZION CHURCH

4 DIAMONDS CONCERT AT ZION CHURCH

The Zion Lutheran Church at 51 West Main Street will host the annual 4 Diamonds Concert on Sunday, October 29, 2017 beginning at 3:00PM. The community concert will feature local church choirs and instrumentalists. Proceeds from the event benefit the 4 Diamonds program. Parking will be available at the church parking lot, located on West Street. The community is invited to attend.

NEWVILLE HALLOWEEN PARADE, OCTOBER 30, 2017 at 7:00PM

The annual Newville Borough Halloween Parade, sponsored by the Newville Community Action Committee, will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 7:00PM. The parade will form on Broad Street beginning at 6:00PM. Cash prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Division A:  Antique Cars
Division B: Individuals Walking
Division C: Couples Walking
Division D: Small Groups
Division E: Large Groups
Division F: Motorized, Self Contained
Division G: Motorcycles
Division H: Floats
Division J: Tractors
Division K: Local Advertisers
Division L: Horse and Costumed Rider

Registration will take place on the night of the parade. There will be no pre-registration.

The Newville Community Action Committee would like to thank all who have donated to help insure the success of this year’s parade. Special thanks to the following sponsors: Jerry and Jody Gilbert, the Big Spring Pharmacy and the Big Spring Kiwanis Club members who have volunteered to help line-up the parade. A food and refreshment stand will be available at the Fountain, operated by the Newville Fountain Festival Committee. Another refreshment stand will be located at the corner of W. Big Spring Avenue and Vine Street operated by the Big Spring Bulldog Foundation.


FAMILY FALL FESTIVAL at NEWVILLE COMMUNITY PARK, OCTOBER 26, 2017 5:30PM to 8:30PM

FAMILY FALL FESTIVAL at NEWVILLE COMMUNITY PARK, OCTOBER 26, 2017 5:30PM to 8:30PM

The Green Spring First Church of God in partnership with Movement Outreach and the Big Spring Heights Church of God is excited to host the first-ever Family Fall Festival on October 26, 2017, from 5:30-8:30 pm at the Newville Community Park.  This event will be held in conjunction with Newville Borough Trick or Treat Night.  Trick or Treaters can visit the festival anytime before, during or after their trick or treat adventures in town.  The festival is free and will feature two inflatables by Strouse Entertainment, live music by Movement Outreach, face painting by Kit Kat Sparkles, carnival games with lots of candy and prizes for the children, hot dogs in the pavilion, apple cider, cotton candy, popcorn and other yummy snacks, and a Friendship Hose Company firetruck and ambulance for children to walk through.  Also, in the ballfield located next to the Community Park, the Big Spring Heights Church of God will be hosting Trunk or Treat.  The Fall Festival will be supporting the Teal Pumpkin Project and will have non-candy prizes and treats for our allergen sensitive friends.  For more information please call Green Spring First Church of God at 717-776-1211.

CHESTNUT STREET TO BE CLOSED 10/7/17

Chestnut Street will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, October 7, 2017 due to the Movement Outreach Block Party and Community Yard Sale. The street will close at 6:00AM and will re-open at 8:00PM.
