BOROUGH COUNCIL HONORS SHIRLEY and CHARLIE HOOVER

With family members and friends looking on, the Newville Borough Council on Tuesday night honored Shirley and Charlie Hoover for their many years of faithful and dedicated service to Newville Borough. Mr. & Mrs. Hoover have served over 25 years as members of the Newville Community Action Committee, the organization responsible for the Newville Halloween Parade. Residents of Newville, and parade participants will long remember Charlie and Shirley for their hard work in organizing most, if not all of the Newville parades held over the past 25 years. In addition to serving on the Newville Community Action Committee, the Mr. & Mrs. Hoover devoted a great deal of time and energy in helping to build the Newville Little League organization. They have been very active in Newville veterans affairs, including the Joint Veterans Council. The couple was honored by Borough Council with a plaque and resolution. Despite rumors of retirement this year, Charlie pledged to be back again lining up the Newville Halloween parade on October 28, 2013 at 7PM!
