Walking Together: Caregiving for the Memory Loss Community
Presents Cumberland County’s Caregiver Support Program
On Thursday, May 9th at 6:30 p.m., Becky Fitz, Care Manager for Cumberland County’s Caregiver Support Program, will explain the program in detail. The meeting will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church 111 W. Big Spring Ave., Newville, PA. Generally, the CSP, assists caregivers who provide a majority of hands-on care to an older adult. If eligible, caregivers may receive some financial reimbursement for a portion of the cost of obtaining services, supplies, assistive devices and home modifications for the person who needs the care.
The program includes a time of connecting with others in similar circumstances over refreshments and concludes at 8:00 p.m. The program is open to the public. Walking Together: A Community for caregivers of those with memory impairment is jointly sponsored by the First United Presbyterian Church, the Big Spring Senior Center, and Green Ridge Village, all of Newville, PA. It looks to offer education and information to support people who are dealing with a loved one’s memory issues on a daily basis.
